Words that Feed the Soul

Cosmos Flower

I love words. I love stories and I love quotes. To me, a quote is a thing of beauty. The quotes I love best are those that capture the wisdom of the ages, those that so aptly express the human condition and those that inspire and feed something deep within you.

So what a delight when I signed up for Deepak Chopra’s current 21 Day Meditation Challenge on Creating Abundance, to find that everyday is punctuated with a quote. These are the ones that speak to me. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

“The appearance of things changes according to the emotions, and thus we see magic and beauty in them, while the magic and beauty are really in ourselves.” Kahlil Gibran

“All things that truly matter—beauty, love, creativity, joy, inner-peace—arise from beyond the mind.” Eckhart Tolle

“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” Maya Angelou

“As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world . . . as in being able to remake ourselves.” Mahatma Gandhi

“We ask ourselves: Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? . . . Your playing small does not serve the world.” Marianne Williamson

“It is not how much we do, but how much love we put in the doing. It is not how much we give, but how much love is put in the giving.” Mother Teresa

“Every thought you produce, anything you say, any action you do, it bears your signature.” —Thich Nhat Hanh

“An integral being knows without going, sees without looking, and accomplishes without doing.” —Lao Tzu

“We can only be said to be truly alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.” —Thornton Wilder
