Today I am sharing three poems by Anonymous. There is a great body of work by these men and women who gave freely of their wisdom and left behind words of insight, inspiration and encouragement.

Who knows who they were?

Heroes perhaps, or scholars, teachers, parents? Men and women like you and me who left behind insights and words that still fire up our imagination.

Special

I’m Special…
In all the world there’s nobody like me
nobody has my smile
my eyes, nose, hair or voice

I’m Special…
No one laughs like me or cries like me
No one sees things just as I do
No one reacts just as I would react

I’m Special…
I’m the only one in all creation who has my set of abilities
My unique combination of gifts, talents and abilities
are an original symphony

I’m Special…
I’m rare
And in all rarity there is great value I need not imitate others,
I will accept – yes celebrate – my difference

I’m Special…
And I’m beginning to see that God made me special
for a very special purpose
God has a job for me that no one else can do as well as I do
out of all the applicants only one is qualified.

That one is me.

Because…… I’m Special!

Stick to it

Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tent of the clouds of doubt
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems a far;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit
It’s when things seem worse that you mustn’t quit.

Not an option

My confidence
What makes me essential?
My insatiable essence
What makes me beautiful?
My everything
What makes me a woman?
My heart
Who says I need love?
I do
What empowers me?
Me
Who am I?
